New stock range and revamped website launched by The Gourmet Food Wrap Company
The Gourmet Food Wrap Company, the recently formed natural greaseproof paper printing division of Chevler and the company behind the highly successful The Daily Catch, is using its revamped website www.gourmetfoodwrap.co.uk as part an extensive marketing campaign to launch a new range of printed natural greaseproof paper.
Explaining the move The Gourmet Food Wrap Company’s Marketing Manager Garry Parker said: “Two years ago we bought the assets of Cardiff-based Lovely Packaging, and following a re-branding exercise the business has now been fully integrated into our Hengoed operations. In fact, we managed to virtually double turnover in less than 24 months.
“Much of this growth was driven by our bespoke service to the hospitality sector which quickly latched onto how environmentally-friendly, custom printed natural greaseproof paper provides all types of pubs, restaurants and hotels with a distinctive and highly cost-effective way of promoting their brand. They use it as a wrap, a liner for wire baskets and stainless steel buckets, a place mat, a printed menu or simply put it on a wooden board or slate on which sizzling or cold food can be placed.
“Sales of The Daily Catch which is extensively used as a liner by many gastro-pubs, casual dining outlets and even traditional fish and chip shops to recreate the tradition of wrapping fish and chips in newspaper also took-off.
“We therefore decided it was time to revisit the rest of the stock range because we believe there are probably thousands of businesses out there, particularly smaller, independently-owned food retailers who may feel that they are not quite ready to take the plunge and order a bespoke product. These range from bakers, butchers, delis, fine food retailers, cafes and coffee shops to restaurants and fast food retailers all looking for the ideal food wrapping solution.
This is where our extensive new stock range of pre-printed natural greaseproof sheets can provide the answer.
“We have specific designs for all types of food retailers and believe once they see how printed natural greaseproof can help them stay one step ahead of their competitors and their customers report how they like the rich, luxurious feel of the product they will want to create their own unique design using their logo or brand message.”
The minimum order from the company’s distributors will be just 500 sheets and most of the range will be available in two sizes 255 x 406mm and 255 x 203mm. A special sized burger sheet measuring 320 x 320mm will also be available off the shelf.
Mr Parker pointed out that The Gourmet Food Wrap’s natural greaseproof paper does not have any chemical treatments or coatings. It acquires its greaseproof properties during the pulping process - its fibres become so tightly entwined that the spaces between them are smaller than a grease molecule. It is therefore fully recyclable and a sustainable option for valued products. The paper is sourced from mills using raw material from sustainably managed forests internationally accredited by the FSC.
